Stage 6of six, in order

Activity is notthe same as progress.

Control is the stage that makes the other five inspectable. It is the difference between a dashboard, which reports activity, and a brief, which names the decisions that are stuck and the person they are stuck on.

What breaks here

Three ways this stagequietly stops working.

A dashboard nobody opens, reporting numbers nobody acts on.

Change orders and extras handled on site and never written up.

An owner reconstructing the week from memory every Monday.

What the system does about it

  • One brief, short enough to read, listing only what needs a person today.
  • Exceptions surfaced deliberately, including the ones that make uncomfortable reading.
  • Anything the system escalated that nobody picked up appears by name.
  • It gets shorter over time, because lines nobody acts on get cut.

Every wait, threshold and branch in that list is a value we set with you during the build, against your stages and your language. None of it is a default we impose.

The number everyone quotes

No number here,on purpose.

Nothing worth quoting. There is no meaningful published figure for this, and we are not going to manufacture one. The test is simpler and you can run it on Monday: ask whoever opens the reporting today what they did differently as a result. If the answer is nothing, the reporting is decoration regardless of what it cost.

Published in full

17 control systems,one trade at a time.

Each one is a different trade’s version of this stage, with its whole delivery playbook published: the steps, the branches, the escalation windows and the stop rules. Read the one closest to your business.

Is this the stagecosting you most?

Often it is not. On the call we look at what is actually costing you most right now, which is frequently a different stage from the one that brought you to this page. If there is nothing worth building yet, we will say so.

Fourteen questions, about seven minutes. No price, no purchase, and nobody calls you unless you ask them to.
